BERLIN

Simon has written a blog about our latest trip to Launch the Indelicates album in Germany, which will say much more eloquently what we think about Berlin. It's here: http://lyingtothekids.blogspot.com

I only managed a few with the digital, but a couple from the DDR museum and so on.

NEW YORK, AUSTIN TEXAS, THE ALAMO

This year i went to the SXSW Festival with the band, and took a few photos. Alas, my camera is now pretty broken (as digital cameras are ridiculously easy to break, which is EXTREMELY annoying). So i'm back to film and scanner for a bit, unless somebody gives me some money :)

In any case, some of the things i found. We flew via New York and, happily and as is usual, we did a very fast tour of the center of the city. We had world famous burgers, Simon had his photo taken outside Fox News (which made him very happy) and I got to see some girls hang out of a school bus with bottles of something they must have been promoting in Time Square.

And i loved every second :)

We then went to Texas, did the shows, which went very well, met some very wonderful people in San Antonio while visiting The Alamo (having driven out of Austin), watched a young orchestra play the national anthem and Phantom of the Opera, and spent quite a bit of money buying cowboys boots that a Biker pulled over onto the pavement to tell me he REALLY LIKED. Which of course made my day.

Enjoy xx

LIVE POTTERCAST! LIVE MUGGLECAST!

In the final year of the Harry Potter books I'm trying to document as much as I can of the people involved in the Potter fandom. It helps that I'm a ridiculous fan too, and I'm getting to go to all these things with SI, who is too...

I don't really think the whole phenomenon of the fandom - it's size for a start - is being covered much, and i think it deserves more than the occasional patronising article in the raggy Guardian. Mugglecast in particular was certainly more entertaining and thought provoking and SMART than any university lecture i've ever been to. Anyway, i did some last year, and i'll be doing lots of this over the next few months.

Please please please if you see a photograph with yourself, or someone you are responsible for, and do not wish it to be in the public domain, email me juliaindelicate at gmail dot com, and i'll take it down, ok?
